Abstract
In recent years, international migration has shown sustained growth, driven specially, by labor migration. Most developed countries have experienced migration flows of skilled and unskilled labor, which have contributed substantially to their economic and social performance. The objective of this article is to generate a reflection on the motivations for the consumption of ethnic and nostalgic products in the United States, and how migrants, in addition to the social process in which they are immersed in the destination country, act as an economic agent that consumes and demands goods and services associated with their identity, sense of belonging and culture.
