Abstract
The article presents the partial results of the first phase of research on the subject, with the purpose of identifying the connections between the care economy and its implications in rural areas. The methodological design is a documentary State of the Art, based on the research on the notion of the care economy and the analysis of the current crisis in the economic and social spheres within the framework of Covid-19. In this regard, there is a significant increase in activities related to care, assumed and delegated mainly to women. Likewise, social conditions in social contexts are precarious in relation to the worsening of the war, the economic crisis and the crisis in the social fabric, dimensions that impact community development. One limitation of the research is that it was initially proposed with an ethnographic design, but in view of the current conditions related to the pandemic, the objectives of the research were redefined towards a non-participatory methodology. However, the documentary phase made it possible to identify the transition between two paradigms of understanding: the domestic economy and the care economy. Finally, some reflections are generated. On the one hand, on how the care economy, in articulation with the peasant economy, fosters community development; and, on the other hand, how the impacts generated by violence and the economic crisis in the countryside have weakened community development.
