Resumen
Para los migrantes veracruzanos el retorno no es un tema nuevo: forma parte sus vidas. La migración consolidada que han logrado en los últimos veinte años, hacia los Estados Unidos, les permite incluso planearla; muestra de ello son los argumentos registrados en el trabajo etnográfico realizado tanto en Nueva York como en Veracruz. En este contexto, el presente ensayo se nutre principalmente del hacer, pensar y sentir de los “paseños”, quienes dan vida al pre-retorno, preludio del regreso voluntario e involuntario a México (y concretamente a Veracruz). Se plantea un marco analítico general, que considera tanto al pre-retorno como al retorno etapas coexistentes y fundamentales del proceso migratorio transnacional veracruzano.

The representations of migrants return in Veracruz
Summary
Return migration is not a new to Veracruz migrants; to the contrary, it is part of the lives. The consolidation of migrant patterns to the United States that veracruzanos have achieved in the last twenty years has permitted them to include it in their plans, as is evidenced in the positions observed in ethnographic work realized in both New York and Veracruz. In this context, the present essay is nurtured by the actions, thoughts and feelings of the “paseños”, or migrants, who organize their trips to New York and its metropolitan area, and give life to the pre-return, prelude to the return, either voluntarily o not, to Mexico and concretely, to Veracruz. The paper presents a general analytical framework that considers both the pre-return and the return as fundamentally coexistent stages in the international migratory process.

Les représentations des Migrants-retour dans Veracruz
Résumé
Pour les migrants de Veracruz le retour n’est pas un thème neuf; au contraire, il fait partie de leurs vies. La migration consolidée à laquelle ils sont parvenus dans les dernières vingt années vers les Etats-Unis leur permet même de le planifier. Ceci est bien mis en relief par les arguments développés dans le travail ethnographique réalisé tant à New York qu’à Veracruz. Dans ce contexte, cet essai se nourrit principalement du « faire », « penser » et « sentir » des « paseños » qui donnent vie au pré-retour, prélude au retour volontaire et involontaire au Mexique (et concrètement à Veracruz). Nous présentons un cadre analytique général qui considère autant le pré-retour que le retour comme des étapes mitoyennes et fondamentales du processus migratoire transnational veracruzien.
