Abstract
In recent years ethnography, which had been almost exclusive to anthropology, has been appropriated by different academic disciplines resulting in innovative research proposals. In this paper reflects on the methodological approach of ethnography from the analysis of two intertwined facts: 1) the implementation of intercultural educational policies through community outreach from universities with intercultural approach, and 2) the time of pandemic that humanity has experienced from the first months of the year 2020, and that extended until May 2023. The purpose of this article is to review the practical use of ethnography in intercultural educational approaches that prioritize community links as a methodological approach to understanding sociocultural processes in times of pandemic. To this end, a case of an outreach project at the Intercultural University of the State of Puebla is presented.
